This is the third year of my illustration degree, and keeping a blog to chart my progress is strongly encouraged if not compulsory, so I am now going to use this much neglected site as my reflective visual journal. Hopefully being brave enough to show, work in progress and less succesful projects, as well as work that I am pleased with.
Our first brief this term, is to illustrate 3 stories written by Angela carter from her short story book The Bloody Chamber. This is in fact a national competition organised by The House of Illustration and The Folio Society, who publish books with strong emphasis on superior illustration.
last years winner of this competition was Illustrator Mathew Richardson, who interestingly enough was a past tutor of Hereford College of Arts. This is one of his prize winning Illustrations.
